Halloween Kills
(October 15th in theaters/Peacock Network)

Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) returns to Haddonfield, Illinois in an attempt to defeat her brother Michael Myers.

With the film's upcoming release, let's get Chicagoans and Illinois residents spooked for the Halloween season.

Here are some must-see films for Halloween set in Chicago and Illinois ...

Candyman (1992)

The film is set in Cabrini-Green with Candyman (Tony Todd) appearing when his name is said five times. The film also stars Virigina Madsen as an ambitious student at UIC, who gets more than she bargains for when she learns of the Candyman legend.

Child's Play (1988)

A single mother gives her son a doll for his birthday, only to find it's been possessed by the spirit of a serial killer. The film gave us all nightmares of Chucky, but also set in Chicago with various settings in the Lakeview/Lincoln Park, Halsted and Lake, and scenes taking place across Chicagoland.

Candyman (2021)

The long awaited sequel to the original Candyman has a new group curious about the legend of Candyman. For this version, we see a gentrified city and a deeper mean to how the legend all started. Expected to see filming locations downtown and in the same area around Division and Clybourn where the original film was set.

Halloween
(1978)

Haddonfield is a fictional place set in Illinois. This is a great way to get in the spirit for the upcoming film 'Halloween Kills.' Whether watching this movie is an annual tradition or for first time viewers, this will get you in the Halloween spirit. John Carpenter's iconic soundtrack gives this film the extra spookiness that has become just as legendary as the movie.

Poltergeist III
(1988)

This is the
third film in the original Poltergeist series. The film follows Carol Anne Freeling who is again being terrorized by evil spirits, while staying at her aunt & uncle's apartment at The John Hancock center.
