Madcap farce and tasty bites make this Disaster a treat for all

A Recipe for Disaster

In a social media-influencer dominated world, one can only imagine what chefs get asked to do on a regular basis. When it comes to celebrity chef Rick Bayless, whose products line store shelves and brand represents several restaurants in the Chicago area, we can assume he gets unique requests. Now he's taken his experience as a chef and restaurant owner to co-create 'A Recipe for Disaster.' 

This farce takes a look inside a restaurant during an influencer night at 'The Contumacious Pig.' Theater-goers are head down to the lobby to grab a drink see the first part of the show before taking their seats. During the 90 minute performance, you'll get treated to several small bites and cocktails. This is not dinner theater, so don't expect a full meal during the show. 
 

​As the title suggests, things take a quick downfall when things don't go as planned, and unexpected guests show up at the influencer night. If you love farce comedy like Noises Off or The Play that Goes Wrong, this show will be for you.

The show is fun and gives an insight on how the people we follow on social media can sometimes be and what it takes to pull off big events at high profile spots. I will say, the dialog is funny, but often there are several scenes taking place at the same time, in different parts of the room, so you may miss things depending on where you're seated.

This is a great idea for a first or second dates or if you're downtown and looking and looking for a laugh before or after dinner.
