If you were a kid in the 90's, Mrs. Doubtfire was one of the first quotable movies that you watched over and over. What's not to love about the story? It's funny, it's heartwarming and the first time children of divorce could relate to the characters on screen. It's always tricky to bring a show that's so ingrained in pop culture, but this show does it right. First of all, they keep the quotable lines and memorable moments from the film, but also bring the characters into modern times.
Let's take a moment first to celebrate Rob McClure, who not only is singing and dancing on stage, but also has over 25 costume changes throughout the show, some that we get to see in progress on stage. McClure's real life wife Maggie Lakis plays Miranda in the production which adds an extra layer to the complexities of this relationship. Their three children Lydia, Christopher and Natalie bring their different points of views on divorce, their parents and how they deal with their evolving world.

While a generation of 90's kids know every scene by heart, we have to appreciate there's a generation of theatre-goers that have never seen the movie. So it's wonderful to know that the same magic we experience as children, is now being experienced by theater goers.
The show is amazing and just a fun night at the theatre. If you've grown up with this movie or if you're looking for a fun family experience, this show is not to be missed.
