Time Out Market in the West Loop is the ultimate spot for meeting up at lunch, after work, or on a weekend. Gone are the days of being undecided on where to eat, meet, or hang out after; everything is under one roof and rooftop patio. The multi-level food emporium features a patio, rooftop bar, communal tables, and weekly art and music events. The Chicago outpost re-opened Mid-June with spots that feature everything from craft cocktails to bbq to desserts. New this year are three black-owned spots: Soul & Smoke barbecue, Shawn Michelle's Homemade Ice Cream & Cleo's Southern Cuisine. Didn't have a chance to visit Cleo's on my first trip back, but Soul & Smoke is divine and make sure to save some room for Shawn Michelle's creative twists on ice cream flavors. Three additional spots that just recently opened in the past few weeks are the Polish and Colombian fusion spot Polombia, Bill Kim Ramen Bar & Bad Bach which features desserts created by Michelin star pastry chef Jared Bacheller.
