If you loved 'A Quiet Place part 2' and we're yearning for something 100 times bigger, then 'The Tomorrow War' is the film to watch. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video on July 2nd. The film follows Chris Pratt who is drafted to a war in the future, to save humanity and his family.
Maybe it's all the nostalgia I craved during quarantine or maybe it's recalling the Will Smith summer blockbusters of the 90's like 'Independence Day' and 'Men In Black', but this film touches right on that pulse. There's something about the 4th of July movie schedule and aliens that's almost a staple in cinema. This film takes us on the journey of what happens when something changes the course of our lives instantaneously, almost the way the way that Covid-19 uprooted all of our lives without much warning. There are a lot of similarities of present day.
Because Pratt needs to travel to the future, the film also has a 'It's A Wonderful Life' aspect to the plot, which I think everyone can relate to especially as we've a different society because of Covid. This is one summer film you'll want to catch this weekend.
