There's something magical about a film that becomes a summer blockbuster. You know, it’s that one film that brings you to the theater on opening weekend and you talk about during endless summer conversations. Sometimes it's a franchise and sometimes it's a movie-star that creates a pop culture moment. For Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, it's going to be both. The Mission: Impossible series has been a force since 1996 and Tom Cruise has been box office gold for over 40 years. Within the first few moments of the film, you realize this is why they built movie theaters, for experiences like this.
Before we talk about the film, let’s take a moment to celebrate this moment for this film that was announced in 2019. Initially, we thought that would be getting back to back films in the franchise in 2021 and 2022, we had no idea the pandemic, writers strike, and other factors would impact the movie industry in such a way. So here we are now and let’s just say, this is well worth the wait.

From an AI perspective, these last two Mission: Impossible films have come to represent an ever present reality. Even within the last year, AI became less science fiction folklore and now its urgency is catapulted by the evolution of the technology. The Entity, which takes center stage in this movie, evolved into something unimaginable, and only one way to stop it.
In the movie, we see the culmination of all the films in the series come together and in a cinematic masterpiece that celebrates this iconic franchise, while also celebrating the cinematic legacy.
Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Angela Bassett & Rebecca Ferguson all return to the franchise and play an integral part on how close this final chapter. Cruise taking on the role of Ethan Hunt with laser precision on every move and decision, while being vulnerable at knowing what he is destined to do.
The pace, the emotions, the legacy, the eerie possibilities of The Entity should all strike a chord with audiences as they get ready for this final chapter for a franchise that’s become more than just an action series.
